Q. I can log in fine, but when I try to go to any other page, I end up back at the log-in page! What's going on?
A. This problem is almost certainly happening because you have disabled cookies in your web browser. The solution is to enable cookies.

Q. How do I enable cookies then?
A. Enabling cookies is easy. In Internet Explorer, go to the Tools menu, and then choose Internet Options. Click on the Security tab at the top of the resulting dialog, and then click on Custom Level. On the list of options that appear, you need to select the Enable option underneath "Allow Per Session Cookies". In Netscape, choose Preferences from the edit menu, then in the resulting dialog click on the Advanced node in the tree diagram to the left. The cookie settings are on the right. Note that over time, browsers are changed and settings are moved around to differrent places. If you are having problems, look in your browser's help file.

Q. Why do I need to have cookies enabled? What is a cookie anyway?
A. A cookie is a piece of data that is stored on your computer when you log in that is sent to DownloadCounter.Com every time you click on a link to bring up another page. The data is compared to our information here, and if the two match then the page is sent. You can log in initially because you enter your data into a form on the login page - you can not go any further afterwards because you can not be authenticated.

Q. I've forgotten my password. Help !
A. This is a fairly common problem. It got so common that we set up a Lost Password utility which will email your password to you if you lose it. Of course, if you haven't kept you email address up to date, you're in trouble! Click here to go to the lost password utility.
